Grand Teton & Yellowstone

We arrived at Grand Teton National Park on July 30th and stayed for two nights.  What a BEAUTIFUL park!!  If you ever get a chance to visit the Tetons...GO!  We stayed at Coulter Bay; our campsite was just a short hike to Jackson Lake.

We left the Tetons and headed into Yellowstone National Park on August 1st and departed on
August 6th.  We decided to take a Wildlife Photo Safari on the 7th.  Our guide, Barrett, was outstanding.  We saws lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife, and learned a little something about photography.  Barrett was an excellent guide - he actually won the National Geographic photo contest in 2010; his winning photo was included in the December 2010 issue of the magazine (check out his website at www.bearheadphoto.com) [FYI - his winning photo is the grizzly in the water running toward the camera].

Buffalo (or Bison) Stampede!!  We took this shot from the safety of our truck
We were fishing at a spot not far from the truck when we realized the bison were heading our way.
Needless to say, there was running involved!!
Bison just a little too close for my comfort.  These guys are HUGE!!!!
